Ordering Questions:

For most users the standard blower is more than adequate (quiet with low vibration) for use with digital mode operation. A high speed blower does offer an increased cooling capability however, they produce additional noise and vibration. The optional blower may be required if your station is operated at high elevations (above 5000′ ASL).

Yes you may – as along as they are known to be tested good at the intended frequency of operation. We will of course bench test the amplifier using our standard pair of tubes. There will however be a warranty limitation in the event that these tubes cause damage. Testing your tubes at the factory may incur additional charges.

Operating the amplifier at its 1500 watt output rating requires a stable high current AC mains source. The typical 220VAC power supplied to a house will easily supply the needed power without input voltage sag (which results in high voltage fluctuations during the transmit cycle.

This model uses a robust 3KVA power transformer that was originally developed for our industrial customers that require 100% (continuous) key down RF output power. The PS-70DX is available to amateur radio users (with a defined output voltage) that enables it  to power RF amplifiers that use power tubes such as the 8877, 8938, GS-23b and, GS-35.
