Series VR Coaxial Vacuum Relays
The Series VR coaxial vacuum relay complement any high power RF amplifier operating in the HF, VHF & UHF bands. The Model VR2 is typically used as a bypass relay for Series LA communications amplifiers. Low loss – fast switching relays are employed to perform quiet, reliable and, semi-QSK operation.
When used with a communications amplifier, these 4 port transfer relays enable the high power amplifier to be bypassed on receive or enable low power, exciter operation. The transceiver (or VHF/UHF transverter) with a single RF I/O connection is simply connected to the VR2 “Transceiver” port.
The VR2 models (only) are available with types N, UHF and SC connectors.

These relays are sold as a stand alone module OR as a package that includes a mounting bracket (& hardware) for attachment to the rear of a Series LA RF communications amplifier, a DC power cable with 2 pin Cinch type connector and a coaxial jumper cable to connect to the RF Input jack on the Series LA RF amplifier deck.
Optional input cables and coaxial adapters are available to enable use with the newest and legacy Series LA amplifiers – see the detailed information below for your application.
Input cable with a BNC male connector on one end enable compatibility with older LA-Series RF decks that use a type BNC RF input jack. These models include LA-70B, LA-135, LA-200, LA-72, LA-12, LA-22 and LA-62.
The input cable for use with our latest version amplifiers include a type N male RF input connector.
The standard relay coil voltage is 26VDC to complement the Lunar-Link RF deck. (We can provide an optional 12VDC operational voltage upon request.)
